Tina Molumphy, MDSpine Intervention, Electrodiagnostic Medicine

Dr. Tina Molumphy was born and raised in Saratoga, CA, where she was a year-round swimmer and gymnast. She graduated from the University of California-Santa Barbara with a major in Biopsychology in 1989. After college, while deciding between pursuing a medical degree or a post-grad degree in physical therapy, Tina worked as a physical therapy aide at Bay Sport and was introduced to the study of Physiatry, the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specializing in the musculoskeletal system of bones, ligaments, nerves, and tendons. She saw Physiatry as an opportunity to combine her sports background with a medical practice that allowed a good work/life balance and chose medical school.
Tina graduated from Tulane University School of Medicine in 1995 with honors and received recognition for her studies of toxicology. Leaving New Orleans behind, she returned to the Bay Area for an Internal Medicine internship at St. Mary’s Hospital in San Francisco, where she was awarded Intern of the Year 1996. She followed that with a residency at Stanford University in Physiatry and was named Academic Chief Resident her second year.
Since 1999, Tina has been working in private practice treating spinal pain and has been certified in Chronic Pain Management, Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and Physiatry.
Tina has made work-life balance a priority in her life, making room in her career for family, volunteer work, and community. She enjoys outdoor physical conditioning such as tennis, hiking, and mountain biking, and volunteers regularly at her children’s school.
Tina is happiest when helping others – whether treating patients at her medical practice or volunteering, but a good mountain bike riding with her friends on a perfect California day is a close second.

- I came to see Dr Tina Molumphy back in 2007 with extreme pain when I was diagnosed with a chronic spinal disease. Because of her I was able to manage my pain and continue to function in my line of work which is very physical. Also over the years I have had other issues regarding joint pain which again she was successfully able to help control by sending me physical therapy advice through email or links through utube after my initial visit. As far as I'm concerned that's total DEDICATION! I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs pain management to lead a healthy lifestyle. She's been a blessing for me.
