Welcome to OrthoNorCal MRI
OrthoNorCal’s commitment to excellence has reached new heights after acquiring its own brand new, state of the art MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scanner. MRI imaging will help our health care providers diagnose problems thoroughly, with the help of our Board Certified Radiologist interpreting all MRI studies. Our patients have a team of medical professionals working together to provide the best quality of care in the industry. During your visit/treatment, your physician may order an MRI scan to diagnose your problem. You can check your insurance eligibility after your visit with your physician with our MRI Insurance Authorization Specialist or call ext. 8151. Our MRI facility is conveniently located at 340 Dardanelli Lane, Suite 10, Los Gatos, CA 95032. We are open Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
MRI Scheduling / Screening and Procedure
You can call or receive a call to schedule your MRI scan appointment. You will be pre-screened over the phone with a couple of safety questions to make sure you are safe to have an MRI. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be asked to verify the answers you provided on our safety screening sheet. Our MRI Technologist will call your name in the Lobby and direct you to our changing rooms to change, if applicable. You will be educated before the scan on what to expect. Please be sure to ask questions and/or write them down beforehand.
During Your Exam
You will lie down on a cushioned bed that moves into a donut-shaped apparatus that is open on both ends. For some MRI scans, a contrast medium (gadolinium) is injected to highlight certain tissues for closer examination. This type of scan helps our health care providers and radiologist to diagnose your condition more accurately. Most MRI studies take between 30-45 minutes and you will be able to communicate with the MRI Technologist during the procedure. You will hear loud sounds while the images are captured. However, for patient comfort, we provide all patients with earplugs so that the noise level is reduced. When the scan is over, you may go home.
After Your Exam
Your referring OrthoNorCal physician will receive the images as soon as you are finished with the scan and a detailed report will be available to you on your scheduled follow-up appointment with your referring physician.
